A Crazy Cool 55,000 Bonus Miles for the Chase Sapphire Preferred

The usual sign up bonus for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card is 40,000 miles.  However, there’s a link floating around which will give you up to 55,000 Ultimate Rewards points.

Application Link: Chase Sapphire Preferred 55,000 bonus miles (link from FatWallet.com)

The only difference between this card and the one for 40,000 bonus miles is that this card comes with $125 annual fee while the other links you’ll see only have a $95 annual fee.

  • Earn 50,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 in the first three months.
  • Earn an additional 5,000 bonus points for adding the first authorized users and making a purchase within the first 3 months of account opening.
  • 2x points on travel and dining
  • Annual 7% points dividend

I think the Chase Sapphire Preferred is an amazing card because of the option to transfer points to British Airways, United, Korean Air, Southwest, Virgin Atlantic, Amtrak, Hyatt, Marriott, IHG, and the Ritz-Carlton.

I have no idea how long the link will be available, so if you don’t yet have this card, I’d suggest you jump on it.  I’d get one if I didn’t already have a Chase Sapphire Preferred.

How can I tell if this is the VISA or Mastercard? I’ve had the VISA before(cancelled over a year ago) so asssume I won’t be able to get the points again if it’s that card. However, if it is the mastercard, it seems from other posts of yours I may qualify.

CSP is currently only offering a Visa version of the card (but did offer MasterCard for some time). Just flip the card over and it will say if it’s a Visa or MasterCard.
If you’ve already had the Visa you won’t be eligible for the bonus again.

How does transferring points work? If I have 55,000 Chase Sapphire Preferred points and want to “transfer” them to my United Mileage Plus miles account, do the points convert to miles?
